Summer Reading

8 x 16 Oil on Linen Board

I love these two people!  We were waiting at the Monhegan Island dock for the ferry to take us back to Boothbay Harbor.  This couple made themselves comfortable on the lawn of the Island Inn on a beautiful, sunny day.  I painted this in pastel a few years ago but have always wanted to paint it in oils. This painting will be on auction at Daily Paintworks.

Another painting from Emerald Isle.  I doubt if this woman would have been able to read so peacefully over the July 4th weekend.  We really lucked out with the timing of our trip there.  Cool breezes off the ocean, sun, salt air....AHHHH!

 This man found a coveted corner at Barnes and Noble and loaded up with lots of reading material.  He was oblivious to anything going on around him.  If I could have set up an easel right there in the store, I would have been so happy.  What attracted me to this scene were the colors surrounding him.  Also, the smell of Starbucks.  Nothing can beat that!  YUM....
