Sherbert

SOLD

12 x 12 Oil on Archival Board

Slowly but surely I'm getting the Christmas commissions loaded on for you to see along with my new paintings.  It has sure been busy around here, and I'm certainly not complaining.  One of the best things about being an artist is the great community of support and the opportunity to meet so many terrific like-minded people.  Here's Sherbert!  Such a kind, lovable face.

Just Plain Nosey

8 x 10 Oil on Archival Board

The third in what seems to have become a small series of cow paintings.  Who knew cows could be so friendly?!  What this cow was really interested in was not my scintillating conversation, but the bread that was being fed to them.  I was told that the bread is "cow cocaine"….What a great day this was!!

Cow with Highlights

8 x 8 Oil onArchival Board

Mooooving along on this Sunday, a beautiful Scottish Highlander cow with the sun hitting that gorgeous auburn fur.  (Do cows have "fur"? …Not sure, being a City girl).   Loved painting this one.  If interested in purchasing, just email me :-)

Presidential Look-Alike

8 x 8 Oil on Archival Board

I was lucky enough to get to photograph a friend's Scottish Highlander cows recently.  This particular cow turned towards me and scowled, and I instantly saw something familiar :-)  Beady eyes, that scowl, the comb over, a mouth full of hay, orange color…Well, you get the idea!  I don't usually put anything political out there, but this was too good to pass up…and very timely :-(

Fitzhugh and Jazzy

9 x 6 Oil on Archival Board

SOLD

Here's another Christmas commission to post.  I must say, I was really lucky to have so many adorable dogs, cats, and horses to paint this year.  I am so thankful to have the opportunity to get to know, through paint, these animals.

January Tulips

9 x 6 Oil on Archival Board

A good friend brought these beautiful red tulips to me for Christmas.  I am not really comfortable painting flowers, but they were so lovely I had to try.  I'm not sure why flowers intimidate me, but I approached this subject as I've been doing lately with everything.. as just shapes.  The name of certain objects seems to get in the way of just expressing what I see and feel.  This still life was done at my kitchen table using my little Gorilla box…on a cold, gray, snowy day.

The Balloon Artist

12 x 9 Oil on Archival Board

The word "Artist" has many connotations.  We are all artists in one way or another, I think.  The definition of "Artist" is "..a person who practices any of the various creative arts...A person skilled at a particular task or occupation."  So here's to the colorful, air-filled art of balloons!  A quick study on a snowy, icy, single digit day to use up paint on my palette :-)

Powder

12 x 9 Oil on Archival Board

SOLD

Another Christmas commission, and one that I loved painting.  The beautiful colors and expressive eyes got to me with every brush stroke.  It was commissioned with love for the client's daughter.  I hope this portrait will bring wonderful memories to its owner.
